I’m a little late on mentioning these, but I’ve had two pieces get some space lately. The first is this poem in HAD, titled “Memory as Matryoshka Doll.” It’s the first visual/concrete poem I believe I’ve ever had published, and it deals with some of my childhood sexual abuse trauma and the ways that infected my life as an adult, so if that’s the kind of subject matter that will cause you some distress, I completely understand.

The second isn’t a new publication, per se, but more an old poem finding new life. My poem “Eating a Muffuletta in Des Moines,” which was collected in the food anthology Vinegar and Char, has now appeared on the Southern Foodways Alliance podcast Gravy and is read by Sandra Beasley, who first gave me the idea for the poem in a conversation at AWP many years ago.

I hope you’ll check these pieces out, and that you’ll share them with others if you find them worthwhile.
